My New Red Shoes is dedicated to improving the educational experience and quality of life for local homeless and impoverished children by providing them with the gift of new shoes and clothing for school. Since 2006, the nonprofit organization has served more than 35,000 children throughout the Bay Area.
To reach children in need, My New Red Shoes partners with community-based agencies, schools and other child-serving organizations. St. Anthony’s Foundation, one of more than 50 community partners, recently had this to share:
“Low-income children are frequently stigmatized and bullied at school for the way their clothes look. Thanks to My New Red Shoes, St. Anthony’s can provide new shoes and other new clothing that removes the stigma, improves self-esteem for the children we serve and improves concentration in class.”
Through the SVGives campaign, My New Red Shoes has gained knowledge about how to leverage social media to build its fundraising capacity, which enabled the organization to grow its base of new donors by more than 25 percent last year. Over the last two years, My New Red Shoes’ participation in SVGives has helped the organization expand its revenue base and scale its community impact to serve 10,000 homeless and low-income children in 2016.
